Fukusu Sushi, Dataran Sunway Kota Damansara

Fukusu Sushi is a humble sushi restaurant serving affordable and delicious Japanese delicacy located at Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara. Instead of dining at those popular sushi joint in the malls where you might need to queue for some time to get a seat, do drop by Fukusu Sushi for a change.

You might be wondering where is this shop located - the same goes for me where I almost got lost locating the shop for the first time.  It is quite easy to navigate to Fukusu Sushi, it's at the 2nd row of shop lot right next to the Neighbourhood Food Court shop lots area or if you know where is the Batu Road Chilli Pan Mee at Dataran Sunway; Fukusu Sushi is located a few shops away from this infamous Pan Mee shop.

The interior of Fukusu Sushi provides you with a homey yet relaxing atmosphere for a casual Japanese dining experience. Leave your uptight feeling behind - in which you might experience when walking into a renowned or semi-fine dining  Japanese restaurant. The white table and chairs set up in Fukusu Sushi gives a clean and neat impression at your first step.

The menu at Fukusu Sushi is quite extensive which includes the individual sushi pieces, handrolls, maki rolls, sashimi to hot food such as noodles, rice, teppanyaki, hot pot and so on. And the best part? These delicious food goes light on your pocket that you can come back for more!

Thanks to Jolie and the team at Fukusu Sushi, I was invited to sample the delicious Japanese food at Fukusu Sushi! Adding one more sushi joint in my list :)

Sushi or sashimi is a must-have when you're dining in a restaurant serving Japanese cuisine. As for me, I love Salmon a lot compared to other raw-protein on the usual sashimi list (raw tuna is a big no for me due to its smell and taste). This Salmon Zukushi Set (RM21.90) is the perfect platter for me because it's all about SALMON. The entire platter itself is very Instagram-worthy; thus do play a bit with your camera before feeding it into your stomach. It consist of Salmon Maki, Salmon Sashimi, Smoked Salmon Sushi and Salmon Mentai Sushi. The Salmon used is very fresh and comes in a generous cut portion. There's a 15pcs of delicate salmon themed sushi on a plate for your to enjoy - and I would recommended to order this platter on a sharing basis to keep some stomach space for other dishes to come. Or just hop to Fukusu Sushi and order this Salmon Set to yourself :)

Next, it's about time for the sushi rolls to take its place on the table. We picked the top two most popular sushi rolls here at Fukusu Sushi. The first one is the Golden SSC Maki (RM15.90) which is actually a Mango Roll Sushi (in our common language when ordering sushi). This is a perfect sushi for mango lovers where the team at Fukusu Sushi hand-picked the best mango available to pair it on the little morsels. The sweet with a hint of sourish taste gives a refreshing feeling with it is eaten together with the sushi rice and the best of the sea as its filling.

I love this Dragon Roll Maki (RM11.90) even more because it's sushi with my favourite - avocado! Everything goes well with avocado especially the Japanese sushi rice. The perfectly ripe avocado is gently placed on top of a maki sushi filled with fried prawns and its condiments. Remember not to remove the little dot of mayonnaise placed on top of the avocado - it taste better with the mayonnaise. It kinda serves as a palate blending agent between the avocado and the sushi rice. Yum!

Besides the selection of sushi, you can also order some fried fritters as your sides. We had this Soft Shell Crab (RM13.90). You will be served with two generous pieces of fried soft shell crabs along with its savoury dipping sauce. It serves as a great snacking dish where the soft shell crab is dipped fried to a semi crunchy state where you can still taste its natural salty  taste in your mouth.

If you're not into soft shell crab, you can order the Ebi Tempura (RM15.90) which is a deep fried prawns coated with the tempura styled batter. Nothing can go wrong with an Ebi Tempura, thus it's a must have on your table.

We also picked this Salmon Kabuto Teriyaki (RM15.90) which is a grilled salmon fish head with teriyaki sauce. Do not judge the salmon fish head from its look - it actually comes with quite a lot of salmon flesh behind the head. Grilled perfectly and goes great with the in-house teriyaki sauce.

Another highlight of our meal is this Chicken Sukiyaki (RM19.90) which is a mini chicken hotpot or steamboat where it comes with a bowl of chicken soup alongside its pairing vegetables, mushrooms, beancurd, an egg and of course the chicken meat.

All you need to do is pour the raw egg into the hot pot and turn on the fire.

When all the ingredients are cooked, it's ready to be consumed! The soup taste great with a hint of sweet taste and the vegetables taste even better too. You may order an extra a bowl of rice to pair it with.

If rice is a must-have dish on your table, do try its Garlic Fried Rice (RM16.90). As the sayings goes, nothing can go wrong with a plate of fried rice and its Garlic Fried Rice comes with its main ingredients - fried garlic, eggs and green onions. It's a perfect pairing with the Chicken Sukiyaki!

And don't forget to have a try on their selection of Ramen too. The KaisenKimichi Ramen (RM22.90) is one of the ramen selection available. What's in the bowl? It's delicious Ramen served with prawns, Japanese fish cakes, little squids, a clam and half Japanese styled egg called nitamago (where the egg yolk is half cooked). And the soup is a kimchi based one but not a strong kimchi based which over-powering the entire dish. Do give it a try.

There's still many other choices of food available on its menu. The dishes at Fukusu Sushi are sold at an affordable price given the generous portion of its food. Do drop by its shop to try it on your own.

Bentong: Bilut Extreme Park

Have you been feeling bored lately and looking forward to add some spice to your daily routine? Fret not, holidays is coming very soon - next week as well as in the upcoming month of September. Instead of a shopping and eating holidays, I would suggest you to go out of town and be close to mother nature - and increases your family or friends bonding; spending quality time together. It means you and your close ones - be it family or friends enjoying the moment together without other distraction.

About 1 and 1/2 or 2 hours away from Klang Valley sits the yet to be explored town named Bentong. You might have heard of the infamous Bentong old ginger that make your meal more tastier. But I'm sure many people have not been to this place before. When I first heard of the name 'Bentong', it didn't ring a bell in my head on where it's located (and of course the first time to do is Google it). Bentong is a town located in Pahang and it's only about 1 and 1/2 hours drive from Klang Valley.

And thanks to Isabel and the team, I was invited for a day trip in Bentong together with fellow bloggers. Now, I can put a a check tick on my Cuti-Cuti Malaysia destination list! You'll be greeted by a lush of greens and some wood/planks processing factory upon turning into the mysterious district. Go a little further and you will be greeted by a lively small town centre; the main hub that also houses the wet market, banks, shoplots and so on. Well, you can read more about this hidden gem town here.

As for me, I continued my journey into deeper parts of Bentong where there were greens of preserved forest and plantations everywhere along the road. Less than 20 minutes traveling along the road - it's a straight road; I reached my destination of the day!

Introducing the Bilut Extreme Park; which is located at the Felda Lurah Bilut which is also the 1st Felda in Malaysia! As the park is located in a Felda's plantation area; the park is surrounded by our very own local palm oil trees. Oh well, it's not that you can walk into a palm oil plantation everyday - thus, don't forget a selfie between the trees.

So, what's there at this extreme park? The main purpose of our visit to the Bilut Extreme Park was to experience this thrill ATV ride. You might wonder why go all the way to Bentong to ride an ATV - when you can enjoy one in Klang Valley? The reason behind this is that, here at Bilut Extreme Park; you can enjoy a unique ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) ride through a real untamed rainforest and at the same time, explore and enjoy the beauty of the the nature wonderlands of Bentong. Yes, you'll be riding an ATV through the untamed rainforest which is way more exciting than a man-made or controlled pathway. Be ready to conquer extremely narrow road, uneven muddy road, passing the cliff, going uphill and downhill to see the scenery. It might sound difficult but no worries because if I can; you can do it too!

Before you starting to ride on one through the untamed rainforest; you'll be taught on how to ride the ATV by going through their training tracks. This training tracks is being made to test and verify that the rider can control the vehicle before going through the real forest. This is extremely important because you need to get used to the twist & turn of the pathway, how to go through a slope and so on. In the event you could not control the vehicle and failed at the training tracks; no worries because the staff at the park will provide you with a refund for your own safety. But you'll be surprised on how fast you can get the gist of riding it. After being for about 10 minutes on the training track, I get the hold of it already :)

Check out the training tracks below.

You see, I can't drive on the road because I'm bad at driving - okies I failed 4 times at the test before I got my driving license and never drove on the road since then. Basically, you can say that I have no driving skills at all. But then, I can drive an ATV through the untamed forest! Thus, it's not that hard to conquer the ATV; which is also suitable for someone who cant drive on the road like me.

Basically, it's the same as driving a vehicle on the road - just that there's no cars trying to cut you from the sides and you can enjoy the mother nature of our rainforest. You just need to turn on the ATV using the key while pressing the 'oil button'. There's only 2 controllers once the vehicle is being started; the 'oil button' and the 'gear'. If you want to move forward or go uphill; just press the 'oil button' and if you need to slow down, doing downhill or feeling about to fall; just press the 'gear'. It's easy right! One thing to note is that, always keep yourself in the vehicle; do not use your leg to push the vehicle if you are stuck in a muddy slope or uneven pathway - just play along with the 'oil button' and 'gear'.

Now, you're ready to roll into the rainforest. The pathway that you will go through depends on the ATV package that you signed up for. There's a total of 6 types of packages available from the beginner (the easy level) level to advance level for the extreme & experienced riders.

We went with the Package A at RM70 for an approximately 30 minutes ride which is suitable for beginners. This package includes the learning & test drive, going through the palm trees track, even & uneven off road ride as well as stream crossing. I bet we took more than 30 minutes, haha.

It's a very unique experience to ride in an untamed rainforest as well as the palm oil plantation. You can see the beauty of our rainforest from roads which are inaccessible (or quite difficult) by foot. Imagine crossing a real stream or viewing the forest scenery from a a top angle with the ATV. The scenery is quite a beauty to my eyes but I did not take out my camera or phone during the ride for some pictures (for safety purposes and do not want to risk of losing my camera due to my carelessness) - thus you gotta go to Bilut Extreme Park to feast your eyes with these beauty of mother nature scenery. I bet you that this is one of the best ATV ride you will ever have!

And if you're an experienced rider (or train on easy ones a few more times), you can choose the package that takes you to the hilltop viewing point to view the beautiful scenery or even a sunset. I gotta practice a few more times because I wanna go to the hilltop viewing point - from the pictures which the park's staff took on their past trips; the sunset scenery was really beautiful from that point.

And if you're concern on the safety and condition of the vehicle; no worries because your safety is their top priority. And as they are nature lovers, all activities held at Bilut Extreme Park are designed to fit with its natural environment. I would suggest you to start your ride at 9 something in the morning or in the evening if the hot sun is your concern - or else; put on a higher SPF of sunscreen oil and wear long sleeves.

After about 45 minutes of enjoying the ride, we're back at the Bilut Extreme Park area. They have a counter selling icy cold drinks from its refrigerator. If you love to munch something, do remember to bring your own snacks.

Besides the fun and unique ATV ride, they also have this Outdoor Sport Archery where you can test your arrow-and-bow shooting skill. Unlike the Archery game that you can get indoor especially in shopping malls around Klang Valley, this archery at Bilut Extreme Park is held under an outdoor setting surrounded by nature. It means you gotta take into the account of the unpredictable wind factor when playing here. You'll be able to test your skill at its 3000'sf outdoor field equip with 10 target boards under the oldest palm oil trees there. The archery area is quite big where the distance to target starts from 10 feet to 100 feet.

The Outdoor Sport Archery is charged based on the number of arrows with a starting price of RM10 per 12 arrows which fit for 1 person. The higher number of arrows which you purchased, the higher the savings!

I'm not that good with archery but I was a unique experience to me. But do remember to pose for a photograph with your bow under a nature setting - you'll look as if you're the expert hunter in the movies :)

They also have a mini area which housed some cute and fluffy rabbits. Do check out these fluffy little pet when you're here.

Parking is free of charge and you can park your car at the area in front of its entrance. Do make a call to
+60146088803 or +60146088803 for booking; to secure your slot - you don't want to be disappointed if you're coming during the peak holidays period. Or do drop an email to bilutextremepark6776@gmail.com

Do follow their Facebook page at Bilut Extreme Park for more updates on their latest news and promotions!

Bilut Extreme Park is opens from 9.30am to 6pm on Monday to Sunday (except Wednesday). The park is closed on Wednesday.

Ramadhan 2016: Pullman KL City Centre

Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel is conveniently located beside Pavilion KL in the heart of the golden triangle. During this Ramadhan month, you can experience a unique break-fast session with a renowned celebrity chef at its main restaurant, Eccucino. This restaurant might sounds familiar to you because Pullman KLCC was previously known as Prince Court Hotel KL! Read my previous Ramadhan buffet at Eccucino here

From 6 June to 5 July 2016, Eccucino at Pullman KLCC is hosting this unique Ramadhan buffet entitled 'Berbuka with Celebrity Chef Norman Musa' which is available daily from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. You can sample a wide variety of east meets west inspired dishes specially crafted by Chef Norman Musa. One of the best thing about the Ramadhan buffet here is that you can also enjoy scrumptious international cuisine besides the authentic and traditional Malay cuisine - in which I find that most Ramadhan buffet only serves traditional Malay cuisine. The Ramadhan buffet at Pullman KLCC has a large variety of food which caters for everyone. Thus, this is one of the best place to host your family and friends for a dinner together during this Ramadhan month.

Besides the good food, you can also meet celebrity Chef Norman Musa here at Eccucino during your dinner on selected days. His next appearance at Eccucino is on 22, 25 and 30 June 2016. Don't miss out to have a selfie or even an autograph from him! He will be conducting a cooking demonstration during the buffet dinner, do drop by to learn some cooking skills from this renowned chef - you might be the lucky one to become his assistant during the cooking demo :)

When you're dining here, be sure to try these signature dishes of Chef Norman Musa. They are served at the traditional push-cart stalls located right at the restaurant's entrance. I love the Rendang Scotch Egg a lot whereby an egg with runny yolk is being coated with a meaty layer of spiced chicken patty and bread crumbs as the outer layer. Then, it's being deep fried resulted in a crispy outer layer while its yolk is still in its runny consistency inside it. It's just perfect and unlike the normal scotch egg; this one is being spiced with rendang flavors in it - creating a wonderful fusion dish you can ever had.

Another special dish is the Rendang Beef Wellington; another Chef Norman Musa's specialty dish. We always heard of Beef Wellington but I bet that it's the first time you heard of a fusion kind of beef wellington! It's a must try!

Another unique dish which I'm lovin it is the Durian Roti Canai! Delicious roti canai with real during filings in it. You don't need to wait till dessert to try them! I had it as part of my mains.

Another item which you gotta try is the Prawns Curry Noodle. I'm amazed by the selection of condiments available for this curry noodle. The curry broth is good and I love prawns!

Now, let me bring you on a food tour of its other dishes served during the buffet. You will be pleased to see the best of two world's appetizers being placed on your plate - which is what I did!

From the traditional Malay cuisine, we have the assorted kerabu dishes, ulam-ulaman and the assorted dipping sauces to meet your needs. And at the same time, you can enjoy the must-have seafood on ice; a starter that is usually served in an international cuisine buffet. The selection of seafood is the cold prawns and mussels and I must praised them for serving prawns which are really fresh on the line. You can try dipping your cold mussels and prawns in the traditional sambal sauces for a little twist!

The soup selection of the night is the Beef broth and if you're a fan of beef - you can see that they are very serious and generous of the ingredients used.

The king of roast of the night is the Arabic style lamb stuffed with biryani rice; a unique dish whereby aromatic nasi biryani is being stuffed and cooked together with the lamb. Don't missed the nasi biryani when you're getting some lamb okies.

You will be pleased to know that your rich-in-flavour bubur lambuk comes with a variety of condiments to pair with. This is a fusion style kind of thing where the kitchen team takes into account the different ways of eating porridge among its customers. Some might eat the bubur lambuk by its own but you can try to add some pickles and peanuts to it because these items actually gives the porridge a bit more texture. Yum!

As for the mains, it is divided into a few sections namely the fusion Malay styled dishes, Japanese cuisine, Chinese cuisine, Western cuisine as well as a grilled corner.
For the Malay styled dishes, you can't missed the fiery and flavourful curries! You can pair your curries with either the hot white rice or the nasi tomato! I personally find that the kapitan chicken curry and prawns curry are awesome - best paired with nasi tomato or even the briyani rice from the roast lamb.

If you're craving for some sushi, the ramadhan buffet at Pullman KLCC is what you need. an adequate selection of sushi are being served and do take a look at its beautifully crafted wasabi! What a detailed presentation of dishes at Eccucino!

The chinese styled dishes here at Eccucino are not to be missed either. I personally love their chicken with ginger and spring onion - it does taste like home cooked food to me.

Eccucino also serves good pizza whereby they have a huge stone-oven to bake them. I personally prefers my pizza to be served hot though. You can also order the pasta from this corner - pick your ingredients and the chef will cook it right away.

And right beside this Italian corner is the grilled corner where you can pick your choice of marinated fish and the chef will grilled it for you. Or you can also pick one from the one which are readily grilled.

The essential Ramadhan buffet dishes are also not to be missed - it's not a Ramadhan buffet without their presence. What are they? These are your favourites satay with really good peanut sauce, lemang, ketupat, roti john, murtabak and so on. Thus, do go light on each dish so that you can sample all of them!

And not to forget the elaborated list of desserts being served in this buffet. Western styled cakes, puddings, a huge chocolate fountain to traditional Malay kuih-muih, Raya cookies as well as ice-creams and ice kacang.

I would advise you to take a one small bite of everything to sample all items served. Indeed, there's over 100 fusion and innovation dishes available at this ramadhan buffet at Eccucino, Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Thus, do bring your family and friends over to Eccucino this Ramadhan month. This Berbuka with Celebrity Chef Norman Musa Ramadhan Buffet is priced at RM128 nett per adult.
